Map Project

Beinvinido to my blog again! So I was actually busy all this week finishing my academic projects and other research papers. Part of the requirements in Cartography class is to create a map of your choice and I have decided to create something that could  show the relationship between average life expectancy and average income. I wonder if ever high-income provinces generally have longer life expectancy considering vast resources they have to pay for medical fees. I worked hard to come up with these maps so I am now giving you the opportunity to come closer and take a look at my map project! I like to hear your comments below. Enjoy,

First Map Map Created (Updated!)

Hola! Hey friends, i have created my first map! As a beginner, I am very aware of my limitations in cartography. However, allow me to show you my first ever "masterpiece". This is land-use map of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. UP LAND-USE MAP I have improved the layout, you better take a look.

Reviving Pokemon Saga!

I have tried several emulator apps to run NDS games on my android phone but none of them succeeded in rendering a lag-free gaming experience. I tried searching and reading several recommended emulator apps from different sites but to no avail. You might be wondering how desperate I am to to this game so let me tell you a short history of how this device got me really hooked. Gameboy was the most popular and sought after gadget during my gradeschool. It was also a sign of class and affluence as only few could afford  owning it.  My good cousin owns a unit and he used to visit us every weekend to hang out with. Unfortunately, he would not allow me to borrow it because he too is busy defeating that freakin Ratata. HAHA. So moving on I decided to work and earn at young age by sewing cloths so I could be able to buy a unit for myself and be officially part of the latest craze in the town. Eventualy my hardwork paif off and I was able to but one for myself.  The sentimental value I have with

Revisiting Taytay

As you may have known, I always travel back and fort between Diliman and Taytay. Moving around for an average of three hours everyday, three hours of air pollution, traffic, lack of jeepneys, flood, name it. But, being raised in this chaotic-yet-vibrant town, I can't think of leaving or withdrawing permanently from   this place which have molded and shaped my identity. Actually, sometime in April last year, I checked in to a boarding house to reduce my frequent late arrivals in my morning class. Unfortunately, I never finished the boarding contract and decided to leave after a month. The caretaker did not get furious at me, however, I was unable to refund my advance payment. (Too stupid!). Anyway, going back to to my hometown, I think  "homesickness"  played well  which was driven by my childhood memories, the people, the food and of course my family. For the past years, Taytay has gained a substantial set of stereotypes which include  "the haven of criminals an

Android for just Php 999 or $23!

It appears like Cherry Mobile has not stopped itself from bombarding cheap android phones. Starting today until Sunday, customers could avail a smartphone for as low as Php 999 or $23. However, I am very curious about how smart this phone gets considering the questioned product quality of the cellphone maker. (But so far I have not experienced any flaws with my CM Flare). Other noteworthy deal is the Cherry Mobile Blaze which sells for $93 or Php 3999, Php 2000 less from its original Php 6499 tag. The said phone packs a massive 4.7 inches screen, giving you a great viewing experience. Head to SM Southmall now!

iPhone 5C leaked photos!

Seems like Apple is running out of time to officially introduce its new budget phone as leaked images of the iPhone 5C have scattered over the net. The features and specifications are turning clearer and clearer recently, with several pictures allegedly showing the new iPhone look. Rumor has it that it will be introduced in September 10 alongside with iPhone 5S. For those who are still wondering what iPhone 5C is all about, simply put it as Apple's direct contender in battling Samsung mid-range line-up as it offers plastic cover configuration and other specs yet to be confirmed. However, what is clear though is that this device is cheaper compared with the standard iPhones. You might be intrigued about how this device looks like so I have downloaded them for you, check them out! Credits to mobilissimo.ro   and SonnyDickson

Thursday morning in UP

I arrived late in my Thursday class without knowing that classes were cancelled in the early morning. Too bad I wasted a big sum of money for my transportation and the time which I could use for other academic engagements. To lighten up my feelings, I just took some photographs of the scenery. Here, please take a look.

Todo Sobre Mi Madre Quotes

Ever since I took Spanish in summer, I have developed a keen interest on Spanish culture and cinema. I have already watched several Spanish movies mostly of Pedro Almodovar's. So far, the film "Todo Sobre Mi Madre" is my favorite, perhaps the best crafted Spanish movie of all time. It is a story of a mother, who was pregnant by a transvestite and her journey starting from loss of her son, a reunion with a long time and socially abused transgender friend, taking charge of a pregnant nun and working for a lesbian couple. I have listed below some memorable quotes that have strongly confounded me. "  Well, as I was saying, it costs a lot to be authentic, ma'am. And one can't be stingy with these things because you are more authentic the more you resemble what you've dreamed of being"  "I'm not a whore. I've been fucked around a lot, but I'm not a whore"

Cheapest Quad-core Phones

Mobile phones are becoming cheaper and cheaper nowadays, thanks to our folks in China where massive counter production and product imitation has made smartphones relatively cheaper compared with branded ones. Local companies like Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, Starmobile and Torque import the bulk of their android phones from Chinese mobile production companies, which is formally refereed to as the ODM or original device manufacturer. Technological innovation has contributed substantially in making smartphones more affordable and far-reaching device that could take multi-tasking activities.  I remember the time in my grade school when my mother used to hire a photographer during my graduation. A unit of camera is too expensive, that’s why it's necessary to rely on their service during this “memorable period” . Ok, I’ll now introduce to you the latest and cheapest quad-core mobile phones running on Google' android. However, this phones are all sold in the Philippines, so you might w

Where your taxes really go

While I was browsing my  newsfeed,  I saw this picture I had never been this serious in expressing criticism in political scandal but ever since this scam has surfaced, I just can't stand to be a  incognisant and inconsiderate  following the lavish lifestyle of Napoles'  daughter. You wanna know how  Jeane celebrated her birthday? I'll definitely believe that you must have been invited.  It's our taxes by the way.

Enduring Traffic In Cainta

The name "Janet Napoles" may serve you headaches these days. Thanks to her, our local traffic dilemma has attracted lesser attention. Let me tell you a story about my everyday commuter experience, which I interchangeably refer to as my "religious devotion" My class starts at 8:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday and 10:00 am for  Wednesdays and Fridays.  As you may have known, I am commuting from Taytay to UP Diliman everyday. I have to take 17 kilometers of ride to get there and another 17 to return, totalling 34 kilometers of travel everyday. (OMG!)  The average travel time ranges from 1 hour to 1 and a half during the regular semester. The picture below is the path I take going from Taytay to UP. It is also the same path I use when returning home. Taytay to UP-Diliman Trajecory Map Before you reach UP, you first have cross three cities and one town. Travelling from Taytay to Cainta is relatively fast, with minor incidence of traffic in Tikling,
